Content: Interview with Vera Volkova conducted by Marian Horosko, as host. Recorded in the summer of 1964 at Watch Hill, Rhode Island, summer quarters of the Harkness Ballet. Broadcast in August, 1964 by radio station WNCN, New York, on its series, Profiles. Vera Volkova, staff member and artistic adviser to the Royal Danish Ballet, was teaching members of the Harkness Ballet in the summer of 1964.
Funding: The processing and cataloging of this recording was made possible in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. The support of the National Endowment for the Arts is also gratefully acknowledged.

Streaming audio file (approximately 21 minutes). Marian Horosko speaks about Vera Volkova and notes that the interview (recorded at Watch Hill, Rhode Island) was broadcast in August; [piano music]; Horosoko introduces Vera Volkova who speaks with Horosko about her own training; her work with the Royal Ballet and with the Royal Danish Ballet [Kongelige Danske ballet]; male dancing; her teaching methods and typical class exercises including at the barre, center work, jumps, and pointe work [piano music].
