CONTENTS. - African-American fraternity step shows. Facilitator: Dr. Elizabeth Fine, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. A brief interview with David Earl Harvin (?), president of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity at East Tennessee State University, is followed by a demonstration by the fraternity, the only group in the nation to use canes in their step shows. After a question-and-answer period, audience members participate in a lesson in stepping, which is also called blocking. The session closes with another demonstration by the fraternity.

Videotaped for the Dance Collection by the CASS in the ballroom of the D. P. Culp University Center, East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, Tennessee, on March 3, 1990, with the assistance of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York State Council on the Arts.
