Description
Two unrelated recordings: the 1st (37 min.) is about Bobby Clark and the 2nd (17 min.) contains several takes of the Tide detergent commercials. Benny Rubin, a popular comedian well acquainted with Bobby Clark, recounts Clark's career from his early days as an acrobatic dancer in burlesque to success in comedy. His narrative includes a detailed description of the nature of tab show and burlesque, stories of his own experiences, and characteristics of a few notable fellow comedians (Fred Allen, Jack Benny, George Burns, Red Skelton) in life and on stage.
