According to David Vaughan's book, Merce Cunningham: 50 Years (Aperture: New York, 1997), the dance begins in silence for some time and then the sound is played. To create the streaming files, the sound engineers edited out the recording silences in the preservation files, thus the discrepancies in length between the preservation files and the streaming files.
