Abstract

The non-musical part of the two last radio programs (4th and 5th) featuring Andre Watts in performance and conversations with Nancy Shear, violinist and interviewer. The musical works from his recorded performances that are scheduled to be broadcast on the radio are announced and analyzed but not included in this recording. In response to Shear's questions Watts speaks about his idea of piano playing; musicians' ego; his feelings about interviews, performing, musical technique etc.; his ways of relaxation; and composers he performs (Liszt, Wagner, Chopin, Schubert, Rachmaninoff, and others) and those he doesn't.
