Description
Interview with Toni Lander conducted by Walter Terry as host; recorded on September 11, 1966 for broadcast by radio station WNYC, New York, on its series, Invitation to dance. Streaming audio file (approximately 20 minutes). Walter Terry introduces his guest Toni Lander, a ballerina with American Ballet Theatre; Toni Lander speaks with Terry about her artistic growth; the place of technique in performance; her own background and training with the Royal Danish Ballet [Kongelige Danske ballet] including classes in pantomime that she has since found invaluable; learning [Auguste Bournonville's] La sylphide including how she was coached, and Birgit Culberg's Miss Julie; her satisfaction with American Ballet Theatre.
