Abstract
American screenwriter and actor Frank [Frankie] Ray Perilli discusses the beginning of his career and his professional and personal relationships with stand-up comedian Lenny Bruce that started in the 1940's and lasted till Bruce's death in 1966. As Bruce's stage companion and manager for almost two decades, he talks about his multi-talented personality and his efforts to salvage Lenny's career in the face of his substance abuse and harassment from the establishment.
