Description
Interview with Enrique Martínez conducted by Marian Horosko, most likely for broadcast on either the radio program World of Dance or the radio program Profiles; in 1968, probably in November or December. Streaming file 1 (approximately 15 minutes). Enrique Martínez speaks with Marian Horosko about his background including his longtime association with American Ballet Theatre and his training with Alica and Fernando Alonso in Cuba; Alicia Alonso; the ballet Coppélia, which he is staging for American Ballet Theatre; the roles of Swanilda, Franz, and Dr. Coppélius and the plot and notable scenes of Act 1; the plot and notable scenes of Act II [ends abruptly but continues on streaming file 2]. Streaming file 2 (approximately 14 minutes). [Very brief segment of extraneous material.] Enrique Martínez continues to speak with Marian Horosko about Act II of Coppélia; the plot and notable scenes of Act III; performing the role of Franz with Alicia Alonso [the final approximate one minute of the recording contains extraneous material].
