Physical DescriptionVideocassetteExtent: 1 videocassette (VHS) (200 min.) : sound with silent sequences, black and white ; 1/2 in.
DescriptionA recording of the technical direction - light, sound, and curtain cues - of a White Oak Dance Project performance and rehearsal. Visual quality is poor: as the footage is recorded in long shot, individual dancers are hard to identify and facial expressions are not visible. Instead, this is a rare behind-the-scenes conversation between the technical experts and stage manager of the company. The rehearsal audio is conversational and directed towards troubleshooting; the performance audio is limited to cues and essential dialogue. Audio buzz and hum on the recording is part of the working environment and discussed as a technical problem.
