DescriptionWendy Perron talks about the 50th anniversary of Judson Dance Theatre and what is going on around town including events by Danspace Project and Movement Research; David Gordon and Valda Setterfield discuss working with and meeting each other through dancing with Jimmy Waring; the influence Merce Cunningham had on both of them; the creation of Mannequin dance; working with and creating the Eadweard Muybridge dance scores for a solo for Valda Setterfield when she was on tour with Merce Cunningham; Setterfield talks about the process of performing for a PBS pledge drive; viewing an excerpt of this performance entitled, The Photographer, Act III; how Setterfield has been a muse and not a muse for Gordon; Setterfield finding herself after becoming informed at Friends Indeed, about the AIDS crisis and the actions taken to support the victims; Question & Answer session which included discussions about Gordon's An Audience with the Pope, David Vaughn showing James Waring dance videos at the Dance Division, John Cage's importance to both of them, talking about their son Ain, the creation process and the difficulties involved with David, Ain, and Valda creating the work, Family Business; and concludes with Gordon praising Setterfield and Perron thanking everyone.
