NotesStatement of responsibility: music by David Tudor, Takehisa Kosugi, D'Arcy Gray, and John D.S. Adams.Content: Contains a rehearsal of music to be used for the White Oak Dance Project's performances of Merce Cunningham's Signals (1970). The Second week of January is based on the initial concept by John Cage for Signals, titled the First week of June, a collaboration with composers Gordon Mumma and David Tudor.Content: Title, performers and date provided by cataloger based on handwritten note on original cassette, audition, collection context, and information provided on David Tudor's WWW site.Content: Handwritten note on original cassette: "Signals ; Rehearsal".Content: Sound quality is mostly good; ends abruptly and probably cuts off the end of the music.Venue: Recorded in rehearsal in an unidentified location.Acquisition: Gift; Merce Cunningham Dance Foundation, 2011-2012.Citation/reference: Forms part of the Merce Cunningham Dance Foundation Collection.
