Venue: English title: The blue train. Subtitled Operette dansée in one act. Videotaped in dress rehearsal for the Jerome Robbins Archive at Zellerbach Auditorium, the University of California, Berkeley, on October 25, 1990, by Jay Millard, with the assistance of grants from the New York State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment on the Arts.
Creation/Production Credits: Choreography: Bronislava Nijinska. Preliminary reconstruction by Sir Anton Dolin and Frank W. D. Ries. Reconstructed, staged and directed by Irina Nijinska and Ries. Music: Darius Milhaud. Libretto: Jean Cocteau. Scenery/curtain: Realized by Ron Steger after the original décor by Henri Laurens and original curtain by Pablo Picasso. Costumes: Realized and constructed by Mario Alonzo and Dale Foster after original designs by Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. Lighting: Robert Klemm.
Creation/Production Credits: Performed by the Oakland Ballet: Jill Taylor (a tennis champion), Abra Rudisill (Perlouse), Michael Lowe (Beau Gosse), Don Schwennesen (the golfer), with Lorelei Begany, Cynthia Chin, Natalia Eremina, Jeannene Fogel, Kim Gardner, Joy Gim, Karen Jones, Jenna McClintock, Lara Peggs, Marisa Ritter, and Joyce Yagerline (les poules), and Mario Alonzo, Norman Burnett, Gregg Engle, John Lanch, Nathan Hansen-Plount, Michael Ryan, Joral Schmalle, Carlo Sierras, Omar Shabazz, Ron Thiele, and Shigeo Watanabe (les gigolos). Oakland East Bay Symphony, guest conductor Jean-Louis Le Roux.
