Biographical/historical: The map was prepared at the height of the American Revolution, at a time when the British still occupied East and West Florida, following the Spanish loss of the region at the end of the French & Indian War.
Version identification: Corrected copy, "Atlantic Ocean" was originally labeled as Pacific Ocean with state 1.
Statement of responsibility: "London. Publish'd as the Act directs. May 31st, 1781 by J. Bew, Pater Noster Row".

Description
Shows both the route from St. Augustine to the western part of the Gulf and the course of the Spanish Galleons around the Yucatan to Cuba. Ship routes indicated by a dotted line. Compass rose oriented slightly to the right. Relief shown pictorially.
