Content: Printed on border: "France XVIe siecle = France XVIth centy. = Frankreich XVItes Jahrt." Type written on mount: "1. Militia. Hood, large pouches, sword carried on side; 2. Wine vendor; 3. Water carrier; 5. Superior of Chartres, in white woolen robe of his order; 6. Rector of Paris, armed with halberd; 7. Military officer. Captain-cutlas, shoulder plates, armour, gauntlets; 8. Small page carrying captain's shield; 9, 10. Lower class woman dressed in cotton, with her child; 11, 12. Bourgeois mother and child. Wide shirt, large sleeves, tight blouse. Child dressed same way; 13. Small runner carrying messages and orders; 14. Militia. Soldier loading rifle; 15-20. Bourgeois family. Man in cloth costume with large hat. Women's dresses: ful sleeves, tight blouse, masks of black satin. Small girl's costume similar."
