Description
"Agamemnon's daughters at his grave ; Italo-Greek urn from Anzio, Italy ; Naples Museum"--written on border.Rendering, ca. 1870, of the designs of an Athenian red-figure skyphos (drinking cup), 450-400 BCE, from Basilicata, Italy, attributed to the Penelope Painter. Inscription on stele at center identifies it as the tomb of Agamemnon; daughter Electra at left decorates the stele with a sash, aided by an attendant holding a basket with sashes.
