Description
"The army of the "Ribalds" originally consisted of a band of adventurers who fought in the Crusades. Later, the name was used for the auxilliary artillery in the army of Flanders. "The King of the Ribalds" was the captain of the troups [sic], and also a court official." "14th-15th cen."--written on border.
