Description
The goddess Nekhbet (symbol of Upper Egypt) in the form of a vulture spreads protective wings over the pharaoh, who symbolically tramples the traditional enemies of his country under his feet. The king's fanbearer and charioteer stand behind him near his chariot. During the "Sed" jubilees, held every few years of his reign, the pharaoh shot arrows to the four points of the compass and performed rituals where he symbolically trod on Egypt's enemies.
