Biographical/Historical: Les bibelots du diable, a féerie vaudeville written by Théodore Cogniard and Clairville (alternately credited to Théodore Cogniard and Hippolyte Cogniard) was first performed at the Théâtre des Variétés in Paris in 1858. The choreographer was Jean-Baptiste Barré, whose name is sometimes given as Barrez.

Abstract
Sheet music cover illustration depicting a scene from the féerie Les bibelots du diable. Two female ballet dancers pose on pointe at the center of a female ensemble; around them are men and women costumed as jesters, royal personages, courtiers, and guards. A pavilion in the oriental style, garnished with palms and other exotic plants, forms the backdrop, with three parrots (the "perroquets" of the title) at left.
