Description
Two performances of the Merce Cunningham work Tread; the first is a workshop performance staged by MCDC corp alumna Sandra Neels and danced by the Merce Cunningham Dance Company Repertory Understudy Group, seen twice from two different camera angles. In the first part of the file, Tread is danced with the camera in front of the dancers, after which the performance is shown again from the point of view of a camera placed to the dancers' rear. (20:23). Following this is the first performance of Tread given by the MCDC in early 1970. Note that this performance is silent (40:16).
