Interview with Dean Crane conducted by Marian Horosko, as host, at the Ballet Arts studio in New York, N.Y. (approximately four minutes); interview with Thalia Mara conducted by Marian Horosko at the National Academy of Ballet and Theater Arts in New York, N.Y. (approximately ten minutes), and interview with George Alan [Allen?] Smith conducted by Alvin H. Reiss in Chicago, Il. (approximately seven minutes) for broadcast on radio station WNYC-FM, New York on its series World of Dance, on December 8, 1966. Streaming file (approximately first 4:20 minutes). [Music and sounds of a dance class.] Dean Crane speaks with Marian Horosko about his classes at Ballet Arts studio at Carnegie Hall and the upcoming workshop performances of ballets by Crane, Nina Stroganova, Ludmilla Dokoudovsky, and Vladimir Dokoudovsky. Thalia Mara, founder and director of the National Academy of Ballet [and Theater Arts] speaks with Marian Horosko about the Academy including its physical layout and the curriculum; her objectives for the Academy; her recent book, The language of ballet: a dictionary, 1966.
