Interview with Gerd Larsen on the Royal Ballet conducted by Walter Terry as host; recorded on April 23, 1967 and broadcast by radio station WNYC, New York, on its program series, Invitation to dance. Streaming audio file (approximately 25 minutes). [Music and introductory remarks.] Walter Terry introduces the program and his guest Gerd Larsen, principal teacher and mime with the Royal Ballet, London; Gerd Larsen speaks about teaching the company classes; the men's classes; coaching for solo parts; the relationship of the (junior and senior) Royal Ballet schools to the company; the two sections that make up the Royal Ballet; the non-ballet curriculum at the Royal Ballet schools including folk dancing and the Benesh system of notation; her favorite role: the Nurse in Romeo and Juliet [closing remarks and music].
