Biographical/historical: According to David Hall's discography and Grove Online, Walter Piston's "Three pieces for flute, clarinet and bassoon," the original composition date was 1926. However, according to New Music: A quarterly of modern compositions (July 1933: vol. 6, no. 4), the pieces were copyright in 1933 by the composer. The score (included in the New Music issue) is available in Mu 788.03 P.
