Description
Topics of conversation include the history of ballet music Giuseppe Verdi composed for the French productions of his operas which Antonio de Almeida conducted for the Philips recording to be issued in September of the same year; Verdi's attitude to ballet music in his operas; brief talk about conducting technique; Almeida's career path from studying nuclear chemistry at M.I.T. to becoming a musician; and his immediate plans. Two ballet music works from the Philips disc are played.
