DescriptionRecording of a production session held on January 10, 1979, in connection with the filming of The Feld Ballet, a television program broadcast on May 16, 1979 as part of the Dance in America series by WNET/13, New York. The session includes a dance class for children, mainly to piano accompaniment, and a discussion between Eliot Feld and Aaron Copland, including with respect to Copland's works Danzón cubano and Salón México. The voice heard giving technical directions may be that Emile Ardolino, the director of the program. An earlier recording of an orchestra rehearsal for this program, of music by Morton Gould, as well as a discussion between Feld and Gould, held on December 19, 1978, is in the Library's collection and cataloged as Orchestra rehearsal for the Feld Ballet/WNET/13. A videocassette of the finished program is also in the Library's collection and cataloged as *MGZIC 9-114.
