Description
Martin Bookspan interviews American composer, conductor, and educator Morton Gould during an undated broadcast. Gould talks about his self identification as a composer, and about an identification of his musical works with his personality; about being both a composer and conductor. Speaking about his conducting careera, he disusses his work with contemporary American composer Charles Ives. The composer also speaks about his work as a member of the Board of Directors of ASCAP that time, and about the importance of ASCAP as an organization that protects performance rights.
