This performance was part of a program celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. The recording begins with Merce Cunningham and Carolyn Brown, Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns, James Hall and others casting dice to determine the order of music, decor and costumes for Split sides. The performance of Fluid canvas begins at 4 min. into the video.
