Description
Abel Green a journalist best known as the editor of Variety for forty years, comments on shows, composers, the difference between success at the box office and critics' reviews, financial operations of various theaters (Shubert Theater, Music Box Theater, Jewel Box Theater, Eugene O'Neil Theater, Billy Rose Theater), and owners of these theaters. He recalls many anecdotes from his long career as an editor of an entertainment magazine, closely connected to show business in New York. The rest of the interview he speaks about Irving Berlin, who has been his longtime good friend.
