Discusses the steel drum players; the classical ballet people including Jerome Robbins and Michael Kidd that came to the Katherine Dunham School; Geoffrey Holder being hired to create choreography for his own number; discusses and listens to the music from the Two ladies in the shade; rehearsal process lasting six weeks in New York; the transition between George Balanchine and Herbert Ross; performing Balanchine choreography during the show and then learning Herbert Ross' new choreography during rehearsals after the show; Ross making most of the changes after Balanchine and Peter Brook were fired; the possibility of Christine Lawson's involvment at the beginning of this production; what Nicks remembers about the Madame Tango's Tango number; the decor being done by hand; the impact of working with Balanchine and a comparison to the choreographer Jack Cole; being a Leo and just having his birthday on July 26th; performing in the musical Jaimaca with Lena Horne and working with her; Balanchine creating a wonderful 2nd version of House of flowers; and Nicks becoming friends with Balanchine's wife Tanaquil LeClercq and watching her teach from a wheelchair.

Inventory, background materials (photocopies of print sources and one original symposium program), programs (photocopies and one original souvenir program), notices and reviews, photocopies of photographs, and transcripts of interviews with Louis Johnson, Mary Louise, Mary Mon Toy, Walter Nicks, Margot Small, and Glory Van Scott. Also includes photocopy of original working script, photocopies of music selections, and sheet music of Vocal selections from the Off-Broadway musical, House of Flowers.
