Abstract

Interview with Linda Mann Reed conducted by Lucile Brahms Nathanson, as host, for broadcast by WHPC-FM, the radio station of Nassau Community College, on its series Making the dance scene. The interview was conducted at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. The date is not indicated, but the year is no earlier than 1975. Streaming audio file (approximately 17 minutes). [Music.] Lucile Brahms Nathanson introduces the program Making the dance scene, and her guest Linda Mann Reed; Linda Mann Reed speaks with Lucile Brahms Nathanson about the Charles Weidman Modern Dance Foundation, which Reed helped set up in order to support Charles Weidman artistically and financially, for example in reconstructing his works Lynchtown and Brahms waltzes [Brahms waltzes, opus 39]; the memorial held for Weidman at the Majestic Theatre in New York City; the role the Foundation has played in keeping Weidman's works alive; her background and training; the circumstances of her joining the Humphrey-Weidman Company including an anecdote about Charles Weidman [music].
