Content: Videotape documentation of the presentation ceremony for the 28th Capezio Dance Award, presented to Alvin Ailey at the Library and Museum of the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center, New York, on April 23, 1979. Master of ceremonies: Henry Geldzahler, Commissioner of Cultural Affairs of the City of New York. Speeches by Geldzahler, George Faison, and Roberta Flack precede the presentation of the award by Ben Sommers, which is followed by Ailey's acceptance speech.
