Statement Of Responsibility: engraved by T. Woolnoth from a drawing by T. Wageman.
Biographical/Historical: G.M.S. Chivers was a dancing master in London in the early 19th century. He was the author of several dance manuals, among them The dancer's guide, The modern dancing master, and A pocket companion to French and English dancing, all published in the early 1820s.
