Extent: 1 audiocassette (approximately 1 hr., 2 min.)
Sound quality is good overall. The recording is marred by distortion, which at times is extreme. But, in general, the speakers' voices are easily intelligible.

Abstract

Interview with Christine Sarry conducted by John Gruen, as host, for broadcast on March 13, 1977 by radio station WNCN-FM, New York on its series The sound of dance. Streaming audio file (approximately one hour and two minutes). [Begins abruptly with introductory remarks by unidentified speaker.] John Gruen, as host, introduces Christine Sarry; Gruen and Christine Sarry speak about her dancing with Mikhail Baryshnikov in Eliot Feld's new ballet Variations on America; her training with Carmelita Maracci; touring with the Feld Ballet in California; touring with the Joffrey Ballet; how she came to join American Ballet Theatre; her time with the company; leaving to work with Eliot Feld; her return to American Ballet Theatre; her decision to leave again, to join Eliot Feld's new company; dancing with the Feld Ballet [a recording of the music by Charles Ives used in the ballet Variations on America is played]; [commercial announcements]; Gruen and Sarry speak about Eliot Feld's new ballet Footstep of air; working with Feld; the company [a recording of music by Johannes Brahms used in Feld's ballet Intermezzo is played]; roles, in Antony Tudor's ballets that she misses now that she is no longer at American Ballet Theatre; Gruen's closing remarks [announcements, news, and music].
