Venue: Videotaped in performance for the Jerome Robbins Archive at New York State Theater, New York, on March 10, 1991 (evening), by Jay Millard, with the assistance of grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and New York State Council on the Arts.
Creation/production credits: Choreography: John Cranko, originally staged for the Joffrey Ballet by Georgette Tsinguirides. Revival supervised by Reid Anderson. Music: Sergei Prokofiev. Scenery/costumes: Jürgen Rose. Lighting: Jennifer Tipton.
Performers: Danced by members of the Joffrey Ballet. Cast: Jerry Kokich (Lord Capulet); Charlene Gehm (Lady Capulet); Jodie Gates (Juliet); Peter Narbutas (Tybalt); Daniel Baudendistel (Paris); Cameron Basden (Juliet's nurse); Pascal Benichou (Lord Montague); Kathryn Ginden (Lady Montague); Tom Mossbrucker (Romeo); Carl Corry (Mercutio); Joseph Schnell (Benvolio); Paul Shoemaker (the Duke of Verona/Friar Laurence); Deborah Dawn (Rosaline); Linda Bechtold, Kim Sagami, Lissette Salgado (gypsies); Edward Morgan (king of the carnival); Mary Barton, Cynthia Giannini, Alexander Brady, Brent Phillips (two carnival couples); and others. Conductor: Allan Lewis.
