Description
Videotaped in the dance lab theater on April 11, 1981 by D. A. Pennebaker. Class in early modern dance technique, taught by Bonnie Bird, who reminisces about Martha Graham's technique classes and her own experiences teaching Graham technique on the west coast. This recording includes a b&w film of Bird demonstrating various exercises in the Greek Theater of Mills College in 1938. The class emphasizes the use of contraction and release.
