DescriptionMarie Lindqvist, a dancer with the Royal Swedish Ballet, talks about the experience of working with Ulysses Dove on his ballet Dancing on the front porch of heaven, which he created for the company. In discussing his working process, she recalls the intensity of emotion he required the dancers to express in the piece, particularly by forcing them to take a candid look at death, and describes how the technical demands of his choreography were heightened by his use of pointe technique. She talks about what she gained as a dancer by working with him, and notes his clarity of vision in pursuing his goals.
