Abstract
Henry Cowell talks about his life and the progression of his career from playing the violin to playing the piano and composing works in various genres. Commentaries that precede every piece of music that is played from recordings in order to illustrate the narration provide the background and the analysis of these compositions that evolve from short piano pieces to symphonies.
