Acquisition: Gift; Mary Bodner.
Biographical/historical: Vladimir Kirin, 1894-1963, was born and died in Zagreb, part of Croatia. He studied art in Vienna and London, and worked as a graphic artist and book illustrator. Among his publications were portfolios of prints of architecture and historical monuments. His collected illustrations of the national costumes of his country, Narodne nošnje Jugoslavije, were published in fourteen editions between 1953 and 1986.
Ownership: From the collection of Mary Ann Herman and Michael Herman.

Description
Selected plates from Narodne nošnje Jugoslavije, a multi-volume portfolio of illustrations of national costumes from different regions of the former Yugoslavia. This collection is arranged alphabetically by region: Hrvatska, Dalmacija, Crna Gora, Rekavica, Srbija, and Vojvodina.
