Content: Jacobowski's opera was considered a failure but did have performances in both the United States and England, opening in London Sept. 8, 1894 at Henry Irving's Royal Lyceium Theatre and later at Abbey's Theatre, New York, N.Y., Nov. 7-Dec. 3, 1894.
Content: Lillian Russell dressed as Betta, the countess in The Queen of Brilliants, produced by the Lillian Russell Light Opera Company, music by Edward Jakobowski, libretto by Brandon Thomas, based on the Viennese comic opera Die Brillantenkonigen by Theodor Taube and Isidor Fuchs.
