Description
Rehearsal, with some interruptions and repetitions. Rudolf Nureyev, who dances the dual role of Drosselmeyer and the prince, is partly or completely in practice clothes; he also appears on stage to direct the action as well as to dance. The voices of stage technicians are audible from off-camera, and the lighting occasionally changes during the course of a dance. Repeated sections include: Act I, Clara and the battle with the mice; Act II, Clara and the bats, Spanish dance, finale. The tape ends with ca. 6 min. of candid footage.
