Biographical/historical: As indicated by the title, which may be translated as "In the Prater," this print depicts a scene in the Viennese amusement park called the Prater, a former imperial hunting ground that was opened to the public in 1766. In 1873 it was the site of a World Exhibition centered on the Rotunda, the structure visible in the background of this print, which was destroyed by a fire in 1937.

Description
Sheet music cover illustration depicting a park filled with diversions of various kinds: a strongman displaying his prowess, a carousel, a puppet show, and a cafe, with a hot-air balloon hovering over all. In the foreground are two couples in dancing poses. The women and one of the men appear to be dressed in folk costumes, in contrast to the fashionable garb of the strolling couple to their left. The second man wears a military uniform.
