In 1873 it was the site of a World Exhibition centered on the Rotunda, the structure visible in the background of this print, which was destroyed by a fire in 1937.

DescriptionSheet music cover illustration depicting a park filled with diversions of various kinds: a strongman displaying his prowess, a carousel, a puppet show, and a cafe, with a hot-air balloon hovering over all. In the foreground are two couples in dancing poses. The women and one of the men appear to be dressed in folk costumes, in contrast to the fashionable garb of the strolling couple to their left. The second man wears a military uniform.
