Dance by chance. Introduction by Deborah Jowitt. Dancer/choreographer Sara Rudner performs a solo created especially for the symposium, the first of her works to employ chance procedures. She dances the solo in full before and after a discussion that includes her description of the chance procedures she used, and questions and comments from Jowitt and audience members, among them Viola Farber and Nikola Cernovitch. The discussion also covers Merce Cunningham's use of chance procedures. A question-and-answer period concludes the session.
