Y. - Pictured above is the famed United States Coast Guard Quartet; Headed by Homer Smith, Boatswain's Mate 2/c, who led the noted "Southerners" of NBC fame, the Quartet sings regularly over the networks and is probably the best known of the service quartets,; Other members are [left to right]: Smith, Thomas Lockard, Storekeeper 2/c, Los Angeles Opera Company star; James Lewis, Gunner's Mate 3/c, who was starred in Bill Robinson's "Hot Mikado" ; and Martin Boughan, Yeoman 3/c, Gilbert and Sullivan Opera soloist, who for several seasons starred with Chicago Opera Company."
