Content: On cover: Sung with enormous success by the clever comedienne Maude Raymond of Rogers Bros' "A reign of error" company, direction of Klaw & Erlanger. Cover includes photograph of Maude Raymond.
Content: Summary: Using stereotyped language, describes story where Ephraim Johnson, an African American man, attends a party for white people, but is refused entry because he won't play ragtime music on his bagpipes; he is kicked out and thrown into the gutter but still plays on his bagpipes; the next day, other African Americans get bagpipes and play outisde of Johnson's house; upon hearing them, he agrees that it was right for him to have been thrown out of the party.
Content: Cover design includes caricatures of two African American men, one dressed in kilts like a Scotsman and carrying bagpipes, and another dressed in a tuxedo.
