Abstract

Two independents clips from The Today show: one dated Feb. 20, 1985 (5 min.), and the other, dated March 9, 1983 (4 min.) In the first, A. Watts speaks about the differences between playing in concert halls versus his upcoming TV recital on PBS. In the second (that took place 2 years prior to the 1st), on his 20th anniversary as a concert pianist, Watts talks about the circumstances that launched his career, intricacies concerning unknown instruments in various concert halls, and being the only black classical music performer.
