Description
Jacques D'Amboise discusses the positive power of the arts on the lives of children; his childhood as a "street tough"; a story of his neighbor Mrs. Sullivan carrying milk home from the store and how he took her to Cabrini hospital in the black neighborhood he had never entered before; the importance of communication; his experience getting children from the Afar people in Ethiopia to come to NYC for three weeks; arts helping the development of children; how he was transformed by the arts as a child and then deciding to go to the public schools to help teach children dance; Question & Answer session which included talking about governments role in the arts, how the National Dance Institute started and developed, and the main change in American Dance during the time of D'Amboise's career.
