Description
Translated as "a lesson of classical ballet," this compilation begins with 10 minutes of a footage that presents Alexander Ivanovich Pushkin, a leading male ballet instructor, conducting a class at the Kirov Ballet School of St. Petersburg with M. Baryshnikov, his soloist student. It is followed by a montage featuring M. Baryshnikov dancing solo in an excerpt from La Bayadère, choreographer Leonid I︠A︡kobson rehearsing with Baryshnikov a part from his ballet "Vestris," an excerpt from this ballet performed M. Baryshnikov, and 13 minutes of a silent footage showing Baryshnikov practicing leaps.
