Content: "The ornaments and colors have been selected from the sculptures, and from the decorations in the painted chambers, discovered at Nimroud. The design is, of course, arbitrary, but it will serve to convey an idea of the probable nature and arrangement of the colors used by the Assyrians" (Description, p. 1)
