DescriptionDiscussion of New York City Opera's 1996 revival of the musical Brigadoon, by dancers Elizabeth Ferrell and Robert La Fosse, who respectively played the roles of Jean MacLaren and Harry Beaton in the revival, and Keith Viagas of City Opera's artistic staff. With John McGlinn, the revival's conductor, they discuss the challenges of reconstructing Agnes de Mille's original choreography, which was staged by Gemze de Lappe; musical tempi; and the technical and dramatic demands of performing in Brigadoon. For a discussion of the first production in 1946, see *MGZIA 4-2877 Brigadoon panel discussion, original production.
