Description
During the 1978-1979 season, Rudolf Nureyev and the Murray Louis Dance Company jointly presented in New York, Paris, and London a program of Louis's choreography. Its core consisted of Moments, danced by Nureyev and four men; Vivace, a solo for Nureyev; and The Canarsie Venus (retitled The Brighton Venus for European audiences). This program, along with Schubert, an ensemble piece for Louis's company, was given at the Minskoff Theater, New York City, in April 1978. In performances at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris in December 1978, the solo Déjà vu (danced by Louis) was added to the program, and Glances (to music by Dave Brubeck) was substituted for Schubert. At the London Coliseum in June 1979, Schubert was given in place of Glances. This film appears to have been made at the same time as *MGZIA 4-4335 RNC Moments [excerpts] and *MGZIA 4-4334 RNC Schubert [excerpts].
